Seeger girls - Departing Coach Kevin Peterson (Interim)
WEST LEBANON, Ind. -- (Updated 4/10) Coach Peterson’s interim position is being listed as open. Last season the Patriots finished 15-8. Good Varsity Club member reports this will be an interesting program over the next few years. Three seniors graduate, who each played considerable minutes. However, collectively they only accounted for about 10-11PPG on the scoreboard. Four regular rotation players are due back. The immediate question is about 5-11 sr-2-b Rylea Wetz (11PPG, 8RPG) - arguably the best of the returners. Coach Chad Wetz was suspended for the remainder of the year in January. A strong soph-2-be group moves up with several who saw varsity time as frosh. A couple of athletic jrs-2-b also in the mix. All told, this could be an extremely competitive squad, especially within the Wabash River Conference (Covington, Attica, North Vermillion, South Vermillion, Fountain Central, Riverton Parke, and Park Heritage.) Seeger with around 390 students is second largest in the conference - by a mile. Only South Vermillion at 500 is larger. JV is above average which is encouraging considering how many underclassmen were contributing at the varsity level. Varsity Clubber reports current teaching openings include HS Math, HS Health, Eled Art, and Eled Music. Potentially more.(Updated 5/12) Good Varsity Club member reports Jeff McCoy's name headed to board

Evansville Day School - Departing Coach Gary Wilsey
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – (Updated 6/10) Now official that Coach Wilsey has resigned after six seasons with the Eagles. The Pocket City private school was 8-16 last season. Day School’s no-cut policy for athletics is unique to say the least at the high school level. Assistant Coach Eric Sogard reportedly in the mix.

West Lafayette girls - Departing Coach Jan Schott
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- (Updated 6/6) Coach Jane Schott has been named a new IHSAA Assistant Commissioner which opens her job. Coach has led the Red Devils for the last 17 years. WL has not yet posted, but it is anticipated to do so soon. Varsity Club member emails that the three of the four leading scorers graduate from last season’s 16-10 team. Two of which went for about 15PPG each. What is on paper to return to the Red Devils includes 6-0 sr-2-b forward Molly Andrews (7PPG) (6RPG.) Three other underclassmen saw action in most varsity contests, but none went for more than a bucket an outing. Real challenge will be finding a capable point. No help expected from a reportedly very poor JV group. Not certain on details, but 8th grade played several games with just five suited-up. Seventh grade described as above average. Way down the line, last year’s fifth grade had title season. Coach Schott’s HS Science/Chem position anticipated to be in play. Sped position also open.

HH Varsity Club Insider: Trinity Greenlawn opening in need of Points

rppknlgpmrrwxhc5rsxa

Trinity Greenlawn girls - Departing Coach Henry Scroope
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- (Updated 5/28) Last year's squad was just 5-16. Just a bit of improvement over a 3-win campaign the year before. The skinny from a good Varsity Clubber points to a roster that graduates just two seniors leaving, and they combined for just about 4PPG. Scoring was an issue each of the last two seasons, and that will continue to be a challenge as no rostered player went for more than a bucket or so. Ball handling is the other. Report states turnovers were a nightmare. Many were self imposed, but Trinity really suffered against presses and traps. One 5-10 underclass roleplayer accounts for all the height in the program. No word yet on MS team. Varsity Club member anticipates internal interest on part of current assistant, but unconfirmed. Teacher openings anticipated, but no specific areas yet.

HH Varsity Club Insider: Frankfort Intvs 3

Frankfort boys - Departing Coach Rick Scholl
FRANKFORT, Ind. -- (Updated 4/12)
Frankfort continues the turnstyle as they will be hiring their fourth coach in as many years. Coach Scholl’s Hotdogs were 10-15 during his only season there last year. Four seniors graduate and all four were starters and heavy contributors. Varsity Clubber reports the only 6-0 sr-2-b PG Alex Farley (16PPG) is the only holdover of consequence. Three other underclassmen saw varsity time on a regular basis, but were most definitely in the backseat. A typical JV should help fill out roster. Current conference - Sagamore Athletic Conference (2024 – 25) (Crawfordsville, Danville, Lebanon, North Montgomery, Southmont, Tri West, Western Boone.) However, beginning with the 25-26 school year, Frankfort will be joining the Monon Athletic Conference (Cascade, Crawfordsville, Greencastle, North Montgomery, North Putnam, Southmont, Western Boone.) Varsity Club member reports to emphasize this info - Although Frankfort has decent enrollment numbers, so many of the student population do not play basketball that their classification in terms of other schools is critically distorted. 3A on paper, but more like a 2A athletically when it comes to participation. More expected but at present the only teaching openings are MS Sped, MS Science, MS Media, Eled, and HS Auto. (Updated 5/6) Good Varsity Club member reports Derek Davis is in the mix, formerly of Clinton Central. (Updated 5/27) Good Varsity Club member reports interviewed 3 on Thursday. Harrison Girls Coach was reportedly one of the three McColley
