OT: 3rd Annual ‘Coolest Thing Made In Indiana’ Contest Now Taking Entries

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Makers of things ingenious, interesting and off the wall, it’s time to see if you’re the coolest of them all.

The Indiana Chamber’s third annual Coolest Thing Made in Indiana competition is back and combines the state’s proud manufacturing tradition and passion for basketball. Entries are being accepted for the Hoosier Hysteria-style single elimination tournament at indianachamber.com/coolest. Entry is free, and nominations will be accepted through Tuesday, Oct. 10.

State launches Indiana Basketball experience website

Get in the game with “The Basketball Experience IN Indiana”. Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch and the Indiana Destination Development Corporation (IDDC) launched “The Basketball Experience IN Indiana” microsite to tell Indiana’s basketball story and why it is more than just a sport in the Hoosier State.

“We are excited to unveil this microsite, which serves as a tribute to the passion and talent that shaped Indiana’s basketball history,” said Lt. Gov. Crouch, Indiana’s Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development. “The microsite pays homage to the home of basketball and Hoosier Hysteria while creating an educational experience for site visitors. ‘The Basketball Experience IN Indiana’ houses an extensive array of content and experiential opportunities throughout the Hoosier State.”

IHSAA partners with Eventlink as Official Ticketing Provider


The Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) has partnered with Eventlink® to streamline its ticketing process for all IHSAA events. Beginning with the 2023-24 school year, Eventlink Tickets™ will serve as the exclusive platform for online and mobile ticketing, providing a seamless and user-friendly experience for schools, athletic directors, and fans.

Eventlink Tickets™ will enable fans to purchase tickets conveniently through credit and debit cards from the comfort of their devices, facilitating swift and secure transactions.

“We are excited to be the official ticketing provider for the IHSAA,” said Brandon Smith, Director of Eventlink®. “With our advanced ticketing solutions, we aim to enhance the event experience for our customers and elevate the way IHSAA events are accessed and enjoyed.”

EVANSVILLE — Jaylan Mitchell glistened in many eyes at Peach Jam. Most of the headlines and plaudits went to older players at the top boys high school basketball event in the country, with the likes of Cameron Boozer and Cooper Flagg making the biggest names in men’s college hoops fall over themselves. Many of the same coaches, however, gravitated toward the then-14-year-old Reitz High School rising freshman playing up for Bradley Beal Elite.

Another AAU Brawl..

[Multiple referees were struck during an altercation at a girls basketball travel team tournament Sunday at Triton Central. No arrests have been made, but the Shelby County Sheriff's Department is investigating. One person reported an injury and was checked by medics, according to a news release. ]

NEW CASTLE, Ind. -- (Updated 7/26) Good Varsity Club member reports Coach Klein has taken a higher paying teaching job at another school resulting in this late summer opening. Report states that Vikes graduate four seniors. Five underclassmen are expected back who logged extensive varsity time. However, statistically speaking, just about all offense departs with the seniors. Of the returners, report states even the best went for only 5-7 PPG. On the plus side, 5-8 PG Ethan Blackburn is among them, and his time at point is already a proven commodity. Last season’s JV was 9-10. 8th grade finished 10-9, and 7th reported as going 4-15. Varsity Clubber reports admin would like to pair with open HS PE/Health.
