Earl Mishler

Indiana has lost a truly great supporter of high school basketball, Earl Mishler has passed away. A long time sportswriter at the South Bend Tribune, LaPorte Herald Argus, the Elkhart Truth, and the Knox Leader, his biggest achievement.. the ETPearl website. ETPearl was a statistical wonder and a celebration of high school basketball long before John Harrell came on the scene. He was a great guy and an even greater friend

Massive Brawl at Oklahoma High School Girls' Game - Team plays next day (Regional champs)

[Players, coaches, fans and even cheerleaders broke out into a massive brawl following a girls' playoff basketball game at a high school in Oklahoma.
In a video obtained by TMZ Sports, players from Tulsa Central High School and Star Spencer High School are seen physically fighting on the court while several teammates and attendees attempted to break up the fight at Morris High School on Friday.]

Here's the part that gets me..

"Despite the incident, the Central Lady Braves played the following day against Millwood and won ... making them the Regional Consolation Champs."

Sounds like Indiana schools (not so much sports, but classrooms) in that regard. Lesson learned -> No big deal. When are we going to start dropping the hammer again, and make kids understand there are some things that are simply not permissible without real consequences?? Drives me crazy.

IBCA Names All-State Girls Teams

Fifteen seniors and 15 underclass girls' basketball players have earned IBCA/Franciscan Health "Supreme 15" All-State honors for 2022-23, it was announced Tuesday (Feb. 28).
The IBCA also named Large School All-State teams (15 seniors, 15 underclass) and Small School All-State teams (15 seniors, 15 underclass).

The "Supreme 15" is the top honor awarded, and players were voted to that group without regard to school size. The Large School and Small School all-state teams are secondary accolades -- the Large School group including players from Class 3A and Class 4A schools and the Small School group including players from Class A and Class 2A schools. Players who make the Supreme 15 are not considered for Large School or Small School honors.

In addition, 90 more seniors and 90 more underclass players were selected honorable mention all-state. The honorable mention laurels are awarded without regard to school size.

Those voted to the 2023 IBCA/Franciscan Health Supreme 15 Senior girls' team are, listed alphabetically: Asiah Baxter, Warren Central; Ashlynn Brooke, Pioneer; Cristen Carter, Ben Davis; Asia Donald, Hobart; Nevaeh Foster, Mishawaka Marian; Laila Hull, Zionsville; RaShunda Jones, South Bend Washington; McKenna Layden, Northwestern; Riley Makalusky, Hamilton Southeastern; Karsyn Norman, Bedford North Lawrence; Amiyah Reynolds, South Bend Washington; Hailey Smith, Fishers; Saige Stahl, Columbus East; Josie Trabel, East Central; and Amber Tretter, Forest Park.

Those voted to the 2023 IBCA/Franciscan Health Supreme 15 Underclass girls' team are, listed alphabetically: Lillian Barnes, Valparaiso; Addison Baxter, Columbia City; Kennedy Fuelling, Norwell; Avery Gordon, Brownsburg; Jaylah Lampley, Lawrence Central; Lola Lampley, Lawrence Central; Maya Makalusky, Hamilton Southeastern; Ellery Minch, Mt. Vernon (Fortville); Jordyn Poole, Fort Wayne Snider; Kira Reynolds, South Bend Washington; Chloe Spreen, Bedford North Lawrence; Meredith Tippner, Noblesville; Reagan Wilson, Noblesville; Faith Wiseman, Indian Creek; and Juliann Woodard, Jennings County.

The IBCA/Franciscan Health All-State teams are selected through a process organized by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association and presented by Franciscan Health Sports Medicine.

All IBCA-member head coaches have the opportunity to nominate players. A panel of 20 IBCA coaches -- 16 from the current regional areas, three district representatives (one each from IHSAA Districts 1, 2 and 3) and the committee chairman -- then meet to review the nominations, vote and finalize the selections.

Those on the IBCA all-state committee for 2023 included chairman Doug Springer of Northridge plus Brandon Bradley of Kankakee Valley from District 1, DeeAnn Ramey of North Central from District 2 and Kevin Moore of East Central from District 3.

Completing the voting panel were Kristi Ulrich of Penn, Andy Maguire of Zionsville, Curt Benge of Plainfield and Tyler Choate of Evansville North in Class 4A; Steve Scott of Mishawaka Marian, Eric Thornton of Norwell, Kaley May of Danville and Michelle Harter of Connersville in Class 3A; Tony Scheub of Andrean, Justin Jordan of Whitko, Doug Greenlee of Greencastle and Tony Hasenour of Forest Park in Class 2A; and Rick Budka of Morgan Township, Sarah Black of Union City, Amy Macy of Edinburgh and Mike Lang of Trinity Lutheran in Class A.

Franciscan Health Sports Medicine is making a financial contribution to the IBCA Scholarship Fund as the presenting partner of the IBCA all-state teams. As part of the partnership, Franciscan Health Sports Medicine will provide plaques to Supreme 15 honorees and certificates to players receiving Large School All-State, Small School All-State or Honorable Mention All-State recognition. Those items will be made available to each recipient's coach during April, allowing her coach to present the award to each player prior to the end of the 2022-23 academic year.

The IBCA thanks Franciscan Health Sports Medicine for being a partner in this annual project.

HH Varsity Club Insider: Frankton opening returns Top Two Scorers

cfazjshd3wrfgolkaclk

Frankton girls - Departing Coach Stephan Hamaker
FRANKTON, Ind. -- (Updated 2/28) The Anderson Herald-Bulletin is reporting Coach Hamaker has resigned after twelve seasons and two State Finals appearances with the Eagles. Coach has won more than 200 games during his tenure with the Eagles, and last year saw similar success finishing 18-7. Varsity Club report indicates that four seniors and the core of leadership does graduate in May, However, leading scorer and rebounder in 6-0 sr-2-b post Emma Perry and classmate and second reading scorer/PG Amaya Collins are both expected to return. Report continues that there is a pretty athletic, if unproven, group of jrs-2-b that will likely fill out most varsity minutes around the two sr-2-b returners. Competitive groups on the way as well. Report states JV very solid, 8th grade a winner, and 7th with a couple that will likely play varsity. No teaching jobs yet available, and report indicates an April target for a hire. One email insists smart money is inside hire (Possible JV Coach Jeff Bates.) However, outside apps will be accepted.

OT: Indiana Sauce?

Was reading a article about a pioneer era recipe for something termed Indiana Sauce. Recipe below dated 1840. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing or even tried it?

INDIANA SAUCE:
4 tbsp. fresh-scraped horseradish
2 tbsp. dried mustard
2 tbsp. salt
2 tsp. celery seed
2 onions, minced
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
2 c. vinegar

Store in jar. Let stand for a week, then pass through a sieve and bottle securely.

IBCA Players of the Week from: BNL, Fairfield, Forest Park, Lanesville, East Chicago, Greenfield, & South Knox!

Four State Champions Highlight Week-17 of the IBCA/Franciscan Health Player of the Week Program

Saturday marked the conclusion of the 2022-2023 IHSAA girls’ basketball season, as four State Champions were crowned in Bedford North Lawrence, Fairfield, Forest Park, and Lanesville. In addition, three young men had standout performances last week worthy of highlighting. This week, we will uniquely honor one player from each of the girls’ State Championship teams instead of the traditional player from each district. All-in-all, we would like to call attention to seven Hoosier high-schoolers this week as IBCA/Franciscan Health Players of the Week in each of their respective classes and districts.

Bedford North Lawrence Junior Chloe Spreen, Fairfield Senior Morgan Gawthrop, Forest Park Senior Amber Tretter, Lanesville Senior Linzie Wernert, East Chicago Central Sophomore Dominique Murphy, Greenfield-Central Senior Dylan Moles, and South Knox Senior Dakota Candler are being honored as recipients for Feb. 20-Feb. 25 in the recognition program coordinated by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association. Spreen (Class 4A), Gawthrop (Class 3A), Tretter (Class 2A), and Wernert (Class 1A) each helped lead their teams to girls’ titles on Saturday. Murphy is the boys’ winner for District-1, Moles is the boys’ winner for District-2, and Candler is the boys’ winner for District-3.

Saturday, Senior Chloe Spreen helped the Bedford North Lawrence Lady Stars to their fifth State Championship, in a 46-42 win over an outstanding Fishers squad. The 5-9 guard was instrumental in the win, scoring 14 of her 20 points after halftime, including eight points in the fourth quarter. Overall, she was

9-14 from the field and 2-3 from the charity stripe, plus she managed to contribute five rebounds to the effort. It was the Stars’ first trip to Indianapolis since their title repeat in 2013 and 2014.

Fairfield Senior Morgan Gawthrop helped deliver the first girls’ basketball title to the Falcon faithful Saturday, as she posted a double-double in their hard-fought, 49-42 win against a strong Corydon Central outfit. The game was tight throughout, but Fairfield used a 7-2 third quarter to separate, and Gawthrop grabbed five of her team-high 12 rebounds in that stanza. Overall, the 5-8 wing was 4-11 from the floor, 2-5 from deep, and 3-4 from the free throw line. She scored 13 points in total, grabbed 12 caroms, and stole the ball twice.

The Forest Park Lady Rangers repeated as Class 2A State Champions on Saturday, as they knocked off the Lapel Lady Bulldogs in a tight, 38-37 triumph. Senior Amber Tretter has been key to their success the last four years, and she came up big against Lapel again on Saturday. The 6-1 forward posted a double-double with her 13 points and 12 rebounds, but nine of those rebounds allowed them more shot opportunities, as they came at the offensive end of the floor. The Miami University (OH) commit added three assists, three steals, and three blocked shots in her return to Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Senior Linzie Wernert has been a vital part of Lanesville’s success these last four seasons, and she topped it off by helping the Lady Eagles to their first-ever State Championship. Lanesville defeated Bethany Christian, 60-41, and the 5-8 forward contributed in a number of different ways. She was a solid 6-10 from the floor, she scored 13 points, and she nearly posted a double-double with her nine rebounds. Additionally, she handed out four assists and collected a pair of steals. Wernert was then named the Patricia L. Roy Mental Attitude Award winner for Class 1A girls’ basketball.

East Chicago Central fans have to be excited for the future, as Sophomore Dominique Murphy has been outstanding in his second season. The 6-5 wing helped the Cardinals to a pair of wins last week over Andrean (76-58) and Griffith (84-57), but they are also 12-9 after starting the season 2-8. Murphy was incredibly efficient in the game against Andrean, making 13-19 shots, knocking down 2-4 from deep, and going 6-7 from the line, scoring 34 points. He also managed six rebounds and a pair of steals in the win. The Cardinals are now guaranteed their first winning record since the 2018-2019 season.

Greenfield-Central Senior Dylan Moles has been steady throughout his career, and last Wednesday at Plainfield, he helped the Cougars finish the regular season 21-1 with a 69-53 win over the Quakers. The 6-3 guard was on target, knocking down 9-13 shots from the field. He was also perfect from beyond the arc (2-2) and from the charity stripe (9-9). In total, the Marian University commit scored 29 points, collected four rebounds, dished out five assists, and stole the ball three times.

Senior Dakota Candler put together a pair of nice performances last week, as he helped the South Knox Spartans to a pair of victories. In a Tuesday matchup at Pike Central, the 6-5 forward made the game-winning 3-point play with just five seconds remaining, as the Spartans knocked off the Chargers, 60-58. Candler finished 12-17 shooting, plus he was 4-5 from the line, scoring 28 points. He also grabbed eight rebounds and handed out three assists. Then on Thursday, South Knox took care of Wood Memorial, 69-39, to finish second at 7-1 in the Blue Chip Conference. The Senior forward was again strong, knocking down 11-14 shots while making a pair of free throws, scoring 24 points in this contest. He added six rebounds and three steals in the regular season finale.

This is the 15th season for the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Week program, but just the third season it is being presented by Franciscan Health, a corporate sponsor of the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.

HH Varsity Club Insider: Madison-Grant opening the latest

xgbv4m259itoc1bhzypu

Madison-Grant girls - Departing Coach Jace Martin
FAIRMOUNT, Ind. -- (Updated 2/23) Bit of a surprise on this one as M-G showed up as open on the IDOE. Coach Martin has been with the Argylls for just one season, going 10-13. Good Varsity Clubber reports that this year it was pretty much score by committee. From this batch, only one senior departs, and while not a big scorer, she did handle much of the ball handling. Still there is optimism to improve last year’s ten wins. Coach played a lot of people a lot of minutes, and those growing pains will likely pay benefits for the future coach. Offense is a chore for this group according to email. Varsity Club member indicates leading scorer is due to return, but brings just 10ppg with her. No one else is sniffing double digits. 6-1 soph-2-b role player is only height to speak of. JV described as awful. Both 7th and 8th grade posted records south of .500 last season. HS Business is about it right now, but more are expected.

HH Varsity Club Insider: Open Wes-Del on tap to return 5ppg..

cjo3b5qpkvrsobz13jox

Wes-Del girls - Departing Coach Ed Geesaman
GASTON, Ind. -- (Updated 2/27) It’s now official that Coach Geesaman will not be back after five years leading the Warriors. It’s been an uphill battle for Wes-Del talentwise. Last year’s 4-19 squad was no exception. The offensively-challenged Warriors could muster just over 20ppg, and a good Varsity Club member reports next year will likely contain similar struggles. Wes-Del only loses three seniors, but that trio made up the three leading scorers. Not a ton there, but the remaining varsity players are expected to return less than 5ppg - total. Conversely the returning roster combined for nearly 20 turnovers a contest. To top it off, only one girl in the entire program is currently listed above 5-7 - a 5-8 jr-2-b guard. One Varsity Clubber reports there are some pretty decent female athletes in the building, but they specialize in volleyball right now. Pipeline of feeder teams looks very similar to HS. Have to look way down the line to find a winner. Last season's 6th grade described as pretty decent. Zero teaching positions available at this time.

HH Varsity Club Insider: Hope on the Horizon for Perry Central Opening

wkrfvfm0ilsyu9lgefqk

Perry Central girls - Departing Coach RT Elliott
LEOPOLD, Ind. -- (Updated 2/24)
Now official that Coach Elliott will not be returning after five seasons (33-82) with Perry Central. Last season the Commodores went 6-17, finished middle of the pack in the Patoka Lake Conference, and fell in the first round of the Sectional. Good Varsity Club member reports that he wishes he could paint a rosier picture for next year’s Perry squad, but the reality is that just about all the offense graduates - as does rebounding and ball handling. While improving on last year’s 6 wins may be a tough go, report does point to a group of 5-6 sr’s and jr’s-2-b that did gain considerable varsity experience last year. The troubles is that none of these players turned that time into more than a bucket or two a game. Looking down the line, though, things may be turning up for the Commodores. Last season’s JV squad fought their way to an 11-7 mark. However, the real excitement in Perry County comes from incoming Frosh class. This most recent season ended in a county championship and a 21-1 record. Seventh grade has a few that will likely play varsity as well, and the sixth grade group, while not long on height, also had a very strong season going 12-2. Early teaching openings include: HS Business, Eled, Sped, and HS English.

HH Varsity Club Insider: Total (and I mean total) rebuild at South Vermillion

zhkcub6njymy4im2ejzv

South Vermillion girls - Departing Coach Matt Payne
CLINTON, Ind. -- (Updated 2/21)
Good Varsity Club member reports Coach, Matt Payne, has resigned (Approved by school board last night 2/20). The team finished 0-24 this past season and will graduate their leading scorers from a TEAM that averaged 17ppg. Total rebuild in store as the JV did not win a game and nothing coming from the middle school. There is currently not a feeder program in place and a school board that reportedly likes to micro manage the coaches. Current job openings only include Alternative Ed, HS Biology, but likely more later this spring. Varsity CLubber points out though that South Vermillion is closing down one of its elementary schools (Ernie Pyle) at the end of the school year and moving their 5th grade into the middle school (Also approved at last night’s school board meeting 2/20). Tough rebuild and job for sure.

Penn's Kristi Ulrich named head coach for Indiana girls All-Stars

State championship coach Kristi Ulrich of Penn has been named head coach for the 2023 Indiana girls' All-Stars, games director Mike Broughton announced Thursday (Feb. 15).

Ulrich will be assisted by Triton Central coach Bryan Graham and Garrett coach Bob Lapadot.

Players chosen to the 2023 girls' All-Stars will play three games in June -- one exhibition game against the Indiana Junior All-Stars as well as home-and-home contests against the Kentucky All-Stars.

Ulrich has compiled a 312-50 record in 14 seasons at Penn, including a Class 4A state championship in 2016 and a 16-7 mark in her team's recently completed season. Her tenure with the Kingsmen includes 11 sectional trophies, six regional titles, three semi-state crowns and state runner-up finishes in 2011 and 2014. Her teams also have captured 10 Northern Indiana Conference crowns.

A 1999 graduate of Mishawaka, Ulrich played basketball at Bethel College in Mishawaka and helped the Pilots to Christian College national championships in 2000 and 2003.

Ulrich served as a girls’ basketball assistant coach for four seasons at Mishawaka and two years at Penn before being named the Penn head coach in the spring of 2009. Ulrich was an IBCA District 1 Coach of the Year in 2014 and served as the 2014 head coach of the 2014 girls' Junior All-Stars.

Graham has posted a 299-65 record with eight sectional titles and two regional crowns in 15 seasons as coach at Triton Central. His Tigers -- 18-5 in 2022-23 -- also have won 12 Shelby County Tournament championships and 11 conference titles (two Mid-Hoosier Conference; nine Indiana Crossroads Conference). He also coached in the 2017 Hoosiers Reunion All-Star Classic.

Prior to leading the Triton Central girls, Graham coached one year of fifth-grade boys' basketball, two years of JV baseball, 10 years of middle school football and nine years of JV boys' basketball. He also was the Triton Central varsity girls' soccer coach for four years, was an athletic department assistant for about eight years and has been the Tigers' athletic director for the since 2015.

Graham is a 1995 graduate of Franklin Central High School, where he played basketball for the Flashes and coach Mark James. He went on to Indiana University, earning a bachelor's degree in 1999. He later earned a master's degree in curriculum, instruction and assessment from Walden University in 2010. He is in his 24th year as a teacher, coach and administrator at Triton Central.

Lapadot is 193-91 in 12 years as the Garrett coach, including a 14-12 ledger with a sectional title in recently completed season. IBCA Players of the Week from Penn, Munster, Kokomo,South central, Bethany Christian, Lapel & Forest park

Week-16 of the IBCA/Franciscan Health Player of the Week Program Sees Semi-State Champions Crowned, Others Preparing For Their Sectional Matchups

It seems like a repeat each week this season, but there were a number of nice performances, 1000-point scorers, a 2000-point scorer, plus conference championships being decided on the boys’ side. While in Saturday’s girls’ happenings, 32 teams were whittled down to eight, with Bethany Christian, Corydon Central, Fairfield, Fishers, Lanesville, and Lapel each seeking for their first state title. Forest Park eyes their second, and their second in a row, while Bedford North Lawrence is looking for number-5. All-in-all, seven players were chosen this week for the IBCA/Franciscan Health Player of the Week honor in each of their respective districts.

Penn Senior Markus Burton, Munster Senior Brandon Trilli, Kokomo Junior Flory Bidunga, South Central (Elizabeth) Sophomore Cole Thomas, Bethany Christian Junior Mariah Stoltzfus, Lapel Freshman Laniah Wills, and Forest Park Senior Amber Tretter are being honored as winners for Feb. 13-Feb. 18 in the recognition program coordinated by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association. Burton and Trilli share boys’ honors, while Stoltzfus is the girls’ honoree in District-1. Bidunga and Wills are the boys’ and girls’ recipients, respectively, in District-2. Thomas is the boys’ winner, and Tretter is the girls’ winner in District-3.

Penn Senior Markus Burton has been electric throughout his career, and last week he achieved two notable marks, scoring his 2000th career point and helping the Kingsmen to an undefeated (11-0) Northern Indiana Conference season. In an 86-65 win at Plymouth, the University of Notre Dame commit scored 34 points, grabbed eight rebounds, tallied five assists, and stole the ball twice. He was also an efficient 15-23 from the field. During a lopsided win at Elkhart, the 6-0 guard scored another 30 points in limited time, he posted a double-double with 11 rebounds, plus he added another four assists and five steals to his career totals. The Kingsmen are now 21-1 on the season and ranked #2 in the state.

For the six consecutive year, the Munster Mustangs have won the Northwest Crossroads Conference with a perfect 5-0 record, and Senior Brandon Trilli has been a big part of this season’s success. They finished their conference season Friday night with a 68-51 win at Andrean. Trilli was 14-16 from the field and a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line, on his way to 33 points. He also pulled down eight rebounds, six of which were at the offensive end, and he collected three steals. If that’s not enough, earlier in the week the 6-5 forward eclipsed the 1000-point mark, joining his father, Mike (1989), as one of only eight Mustangs to ever do so. It was during an 84-66 win at Lake Station, and the younger Trilli finished with 30 points on 11-14 shooting, 2-2 from long range, plus a 6-7 performance at the line. The Northern Michigan University commit added 11 rebounds, plus he dished out five assists.

Bethany Christian Junior Mariah Stoltzfus might stand just 5-2, but she often makes the biggest impact on the court, as she did Saturday in the Class 1A North Semi-State. The Junior point guard helped the Lady Bruins to two victories by a total of nine points, and she made sure to save her heroics for the end. In the first game, Bethany Christian defeated Washington Township, 55-50. Stoltzfus was on target, making 7-12 shots, 3-3 from deep, plus a perfect 6-6 from the charity stripe. She finished with 23 points, 19 of which came after halftime. She added five rebounds, four assists, and three steals to her effort. In the nightcap, Stoltzfus scored 21 points, but again she was instrumental late, scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter, including the final six points from the free throw line, as the Lady Bruins knocked off a very good Tri team, 58-54. Once again, the point guard contributed in other ways, adding a pair of rebounds and dishing out seven assists. This Saturday will be Bethany Christian’s first ever State Finals appearance, as the 24-3 Lady Bruins take on Lanesville (27-2).

Flory Bidunga has definitely made his mark on Kokomo basketball the last two seasons, and the Junior big man isn’t done yet. Last week, the 6-10 front-liner scored 23 points and grabbed 19 rebounds (12 offensive) in a 66-41 win at Western. Bidunga was 10-14 from the floor, plus he added a pair of assists and a pair of steals. Friday night, the Junior post helped the Wildkats to a huge 69-52 North Central Conference win at Anderson over a good Indians team, helping Kokomo to a perfect 9-0 conference record this season. In this matchup, Bidunga was a perfect 13-13 from the field, he grabbed 14 caroms, handed out another pair of assists, plus he blocked four shots.

Though she’s just a rookie, Lapel Freshman Laniah Wills has been a walking double-double all season. Saturday, the 6-0 forward lived up to the billing, as the Lady Bulldogs earned their first ever trip to Gainbridge Fieldhouse and the Class 2A State Finals. To begin her day, Wills was key in a low-scoring, 44-32 win against Andrean. The Freshman scored 24 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, and blocked a pair of shots for the Bulldogs in victory. She returned to the court Saturday night and posted her second double-double of the day in a 13-point, 12-rebound performance, as Lapel advanced with a 51-38 win over a feisty Central Noble bunch. As the Class 2A North representative, the 22-7 Bulldogs will take on defending Class 2A State Champion Forest Park (25-3) Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Cole Thomas of South Central (Elizabeth) put together a really nice week, giving local fans a taste of a bright future. The 6-1 guard began his week with a 22-point performance in a 69-60 Southern Conference win at New Washington. He was a near-perfect 8-9 from the free throw line, plus he added six rebounds, three assists, and two steals, helping South Central to a winning record in their conference this season. Saturday they returned to action, and in a 70-48 win against Springs Valley, the Sophomore guard poured in 32 points on 13-20 shooting. Thomas was 2-5 from deep, 4-4 from the line, plus he posted a double-double with 14 rebounds, seven of which were at the offensive end of the floor. Add to that three assists and three steals, and the youngster posted a nice all-around outing.

Forest Park Senior Amber Tretter did everything in her power to help the Lady Rangers to their second consecutive Class 2A State Finals appearance, following a pair of impressive performances Saturday. The 6-1 forward scored 21 points, including knocking down all six of her free throw attempts, in helping Forest Park defeat Greencastle, 65-48, in the Semi-State opener. The Senior forward also snagged 14 caroms and blocked a pair of shots in the win. In the evening contest, the Miami University commit stepped up big-time, scoring 24 of her team’s 41 points, as the Lady Rangers escaped a very good North Knox group, 41-36. Tretter again put together a double-double with 11 rebounds. She will attempt to help Forest Park win their second title in three tries (they also made an appearance in 2000).

This is the 15th season for the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Player of the Week program, but just the third season it is being presented by Franciscan Health, a corporate sponsor of the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.
