Wapahani boys - Departing Coach Matt Luce
SELMA, Ind. – (Updated 5/6)
After a soap opera of a week wrapped around Coach Luce/New Castle rumors, Wapahani has released a press release advertising this opening. So it’s as official as it’s going to get. Release is pretty standard, but I was struck with this, “The team is loaded with talent for next year…has an amazing feeder program.” There you go. Is there any other info really needed after that? Good Varsity Club familiar with the Raiders reports it’s not too far from the truth. Optimism abounds in Selma, as the Raiders return first and third highest scorers from last year’s 26-2 Regional championship roster. Leading the way is 6-1 sr-2-b guard Camden Bell at 18PPG. 6-3 classmate Eli Andrews (12PPG) is also expected back. No shortage of pieces to go with either. Varsity Club report states that height is not strong suit of this roster. 6-2 on the front line is about it, but they are at least athletic 6-2’s. Pretty solid JV should also help. Eled, HS Counselor, MS Counselor, Coach Luce’s Ad position not yet listed, but talk that it will likely be in play for the right candidate.
