Kankakee Valley boys - Departing Coach Bill Shepherd
WHEATFIELD, Ind. -- (Updated 4/10) Coach Shepherd ends his tenure as Kougar coach after a 14-10 docket last season. Varsity Club member reports a large group of seniors departs this spring, but of the six, report points to just three that were major contributors. Losing leading scorer Camden Webster(17PPG) will sting, but a trio of srs-2-b should be back, and each shouldered a large share of the load last season. Virtually all varsity height goes with the grads, but a fourth sr-2-b intrigues as a 6-7 project. Given that much of the returning roster tops out at about 6-2, he will certainly play a larger role this go-round. KV is member of the Northwest Crossroads Conference. HS English and Eled only teaching, but more expected. Additional Varsity Clubber reports admin would like to move quickly. Apps deadline 4/25, first round interviews week of 4/29, second round interviews week of 5/6, with name to board target of 5/13. Last year’s JV Coach and KV teacher Brett Walther mentioned in email and text report as potential name.
