Eminence girls - Departing Coach Greg Burton
EMINENCE, Ind. -- (Updated 4/17) Coach Burton departs to accept the BNL job. Coach enjoyed two winning seasons with the Eels going 17-7 and most recently 19-8. Good Varsity Club member reports that Eminence regularly played eight girls at the varsity level, and six of them will be departing seniors this spring. 6-1 sr-2-b post Sophia Saucerman (14PPG, 6RPG) is the main returner. 5-2 jr-2-b Abby Dittemore logged some guard minutes last season but never was asked to carry much load in pressure situations. Even with a Saucerman return, by most accounts this will be a rebuild. However, reports points to enough muffins on the schedule to rack-up some wins and avoid a disaster season. Help is on the way as report indicated middle school squad was conference champs last season. Eel tank is one of the cooler old gyms in our state. Teaching gigs are very thin. Eled Sped so far is all the Eels have open.
