Stacy Mitchell of Warren Central has been named head coach for the 2025 IndyStar girls' Indiana All-Stars, games director Mike Broughton announced Wednesday (March 5).
Mitchell will be assisted by Brian Satterfield of Hamilton Southeastern and Kristi Sigler of Jennings County.
Players chosen for the 2025 girls' All-Stars will play three games in June -- one exhibition game against the Indiana Junior All-Stars as well as home-and-home contests against the Kentucky All-Stars.
Mitchell has compiled a 145-84 record in 10 seasons at the girls' varsity coach at Warren Central, including a Class 4A state championship in 2018 and a 13-9 ledger this past season. His teams also claimed Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference championships in 2019 and 2023.
He is the first black person to be named the head coach of the Indiana girls' All-Stars. Previous girls' All-Stars black assistant coaches have been Mel Good of Columbus East in 1997, Larry Winters of Bloomington South in 2011 and Juanita Goodwell of Fort Wayne South in 2013.
For the boys' All-Stars, previous black head coaches have been Bill Smith of Indianapolis Broad Ripple in 1980, Ron Heflin of Gary Roosevelt in 1988, David Wood of West Lafayette in 2009, Chad Johnston of South Bend Adams in 2022 and Don Carlisle of Ben Davis in 2023. Previous boys' All-Stars black assistant coaches have been Hallie Bryant from 1967 through 1972, Heflin in 1982, Al Gooden of Harding (Fort Wayne) in 2005, John Boyd of Gary West in 2008, James Blackmon of Marion in 2014 and Scott Hicks of Indianapolis Broad Ripple in 2016.
Mitchell began his coaching career as a men's student assistant for one season at Tennessee-Martin, his alma mater. He then was a boys' assistant for one year at Syracuse (N.Y.) Cochran, a boys' and girls' middle school head coach for one year at Indianapolis Washington, a boys' middle school head coach for two years at Indianapolis Marshall, a boys' assistant for two years at Brebeuf Jesuit, a boys' assistant for one year at Indianapolis Crispus Attucks and a boys' assistant for seven years at Warren Central prior to becoming the WC girls' head coach.
He was an IBCA District 2 Coach of the Year in 2018. He also served as an assistant coach for the 2018 Junior All-Stars.
A 1985 graduate of Bolivar Central High School in Bolivar, Tenn., Mitchell was an all-state basketball player in Tennessee. He also ran track for two years and competed in tennis for one year while in high school. He went on to attend Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn., where he was honored as the basketball team's outstanding newcomer as a freshman. He transferred to UTM, where he helped the Skyhawks win the 1988 Gulf South Conference championship and later served as a student assistant coach. He earned his bachelor's degree in education from UTM in 1994.
Mitchell is in his 16th year as a teacher at Warren Central. He and his wife, Liza, are parents to Ezra and Emani.
Satterfield has compiled an 83-16 mark in four seasons as girls' coach at Hamilton Southeastern, including a 27-1 finish in 2024-25 when his Royals were ranked No. 1 in Class 4A for much of the season and won sectional and regional titles. His girls' success came after 20 seasons guiding the HSE boys, where he amassed a 322-151 record with three sectional titles and mentored Indiana Mr. Basketball honorees Gary Harris in 2012 and Zak Irvin in 2013.
This is Satterfield's second stint with the Indiana All-Stars, previously serving as an All-Star boys' assistant coach in 2015. He also was a head coach for the 2010 Indiana Class All-Star Classic and the 2012 North-South Game s well as assisting in the 2012 Nike Global Games in Washington, D.C.
He has been voted an IBCA boys' District Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2012, six times was honored as the Hoosier Crossroads Conference boys' Coach of the Year and twice has been selected HCC girls' Coach of the Year. He served the IBCA as a district representative from 2012-15 and currently is in the first year of a second three-year term.
Satterfield is a 1986 graduate of Plainfield High School, where he averaged 8.9 points as a senior for a 20-6 regional champion. He went on to Wabash College, where he played three seasons for the Little Giants' varsity program and completed his bachelor's degree in business in 1990. After college, he worked for Met Life for three years before earning a teacher's certification through Indiana University in 1995. He then served as a boys' assistant coach at Madison, Triton Central, Avon and HSE before becoming the HSE boys' head coach in 2001-02.
He and his wife, Deb, are parents to Brooke, Nolan and Blair.
Sigler led Jennings County to a 15-8 mark and Hoosier Hills Conference co-championship in 2024-25, one season after guiding the Panthers to a 23-4 mark and HHC outright title. Her record in nine seasons as the Jennings County varsity coach is 132-86, and she previously served as an assistant coach in the program from 2008-16. She served as an IBCA district representative from 2019-22 and now is in her second year as an IBCA assistant director.
The former Kristi Green is a 1995 graduate of Jennings County, where she was an ICGSA first-team All-State player and the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,598 points until passed by 2024 graduate Juliann Woodard with 1,755 points a year ago. Green (Sigler) matriculated to Indiana University, where she totaled 1,006 points, 358 rebounds and 324 assists over four seasons while earning second-team all-Big Ten accolades as a junior and three-time Academic all-Big Ten honors.
Sigler earned a bachelor's degree in business and computer information systems from IU in 1999. She later earned a master's of business administration from the University of Houston in 2005. She began her professional career in 1999 with ExxonMobil in Houston, Texas. Since 2006, she has worked for the Brown-Forman Corporation of Louisville, and she has been the manager for global delivery since June 2017.
She was chosen to the 2020 Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Silver Anniversary Team and was inducted into the Jennings County Alumni Hall of Fame in 2021. She also was the South head coach for the inaugural Indiana All-Star Futures Game in 2023.
Sigler and her husband, B.J., are parents to Cole and Brycen.
The Junior-Senior exhibition game is set for June 4 at Greenfield-Central. The first game against Kentucky will be June 6 at a site to be announced. The final game against Kentucky will be June 7 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. All three dates will be doubleheaders with the IndyStar Indiana boys' All-Stars.

The Indiana All-Stars program was founded in 1939 when the Indiana boys' All-Stars played the state champion Frankfort Hot Dogs. The series with Kentucky began in 1940, and the girls' portion of the All-Stars was added in 1976. The Junior All-Stars, boys and girls, were added in 1996. The All-Star senior girls have played Kentucky every year since 1976, except 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The All-Star senior boys have played Kentucky in all but three years since 1940 -- 1943 (World War II), 1944 (World War II) and 2020 (COVID-19 pandemic).
The Indiana Senior girls lead 55-41 in their series with Kentucky. The Indiana Senior girls lead 41-12 in games against the Indiana Junior girls. The Indiana Junior girls lead 12-1 in their series with Kentucky. The Indiana Senior boys lead 105-46 in their series with Kentucky. The Indiana Senior boys lead 42-11 in games against the Indiana Junior boys. The Indiana Junior boys lead 8-5 in their series with Kentucky. In the two years of Futures Games, the South boys are 2-0 while the girls' North and South squads each is 1-1.
