Beckman said that just three girls turned out for the first day of practice this year, putting the team's season in jeopardy. In the weeks since, the program has recruited several more girls to bring the roster to 9 or 10. But several of these girls have little or no basketball experience and are not ready to play against some of the more competitive varsity teams in the area.]
