We have lost the Gentle Giant at age 86. He lost his battle with cancer and passed away in his North Manchester home. A grad of Terre Haute Garfield, Clyde went on to star at Kansas where they won the NCAA championship his senior year. He also won an Olympic gold medal and several NBA championships, the first player to accomplish that feat. He is best known around here for his work at White's Institute with troubled youth as well as coaching them Not everyone from Indiana gets a N.Y. Times obituary
