IU Post season?

Apparently the IU men''s team has chosen to end their season rather than enter the NIT or any other post season option. Does anyone know if they were invited to the NIT or was it a coaches decision not to participate? NCAA or bust seems to be sort of a short sighted decision. I would have liked to have seen how this group of Hoosiers compared with random opponents such as the NIT would offer.
