Taylor boys – Departing Coach Dennis Bentzler
KOKOMO, Ind. – (Updated 3/9) Coach Bentzler has announced his decision to retire after two seasons leading the boys. He had previously served as head football coach as well as over two decades as girls coach for the Titans. Taylor was 12-12 last go round losing to Blackford in the Sectional final. Good Varsity Club member reports it’s a total rebuild project as five contributing seniors leave. Report continues that only about 15 ppg expected back from a group of largely untested underclassmen. 5-10 jr-2-b guard Mekhi McGee’s 7 ppg appears to be the best of the batch, and 6-2 Sr-2-b Quinten Tucker is the only post with much varsity time 4ppg, 3rpg. JV not expected to help much either as they were reportedly way blow .500. 2A Taylor plays and is regularly competitive in the Hoosier Heartland Conference. (5 2A, 1 3A, and 1 1A) No teaching positions at this time.
