Wes-Del girls - Departing Coach Ed Geesaman
GASTON, Ind. -- (Updated 2/27) It’s now official that Coach Geesaman will not be back after five years leading the Warriors. It’s been an uphill battle for Wes-Del talentwise. Last year’s 4-19 squad was no exception. The offensively-challenged Warriors could muster just over 20ppg, and a good Varsity Club member reports next year will likely contain similar struggles. Wes-Del only loses three seniors, but that trio made up the three leading scorers. Not a ton there, but the remaining varsity players are expected to return less than 5ppg - total. Conversely the returning roster combined for nearly 20 turnovers a contest. To top it off, only one girl in the entire program is currently listed above 5-7 - a 5-8 jr-2-b guard. One Varsity Clubber reports there are some pretty decent female athletes in the building, but they specialize in volleyball right now. Pipeline of feeder teams looks very similar to HS. Have to look way down the line to find a winner. Last season's 6th grade described as pretty decent. Zero teaching positions available at this time.
