Madison-Grant girls - Departing Coach Jace Martin
FAIRMOUNT, Ind. -- (Updated 2/23) Bit of a surprise on this one as M-G showed up as open on the IDOE. Coach Martin has been with the Argylls for just one season, going 10-13. Good Varsity Clubber reports that this year it was pretty much score by committee. From this batch, only one senior departs, and while not a big scorer, she did handle much of the ball handling. Still there is optimism to improve last year’s ten wins. Coach played a lot of people a lot of minutes, and those growing pains will likely pay benefits for the future coach. Offense is a chore for this group according to email. Varsity Club member indicates leading scorer is due to return, but brings just 10ppg with her. No one else is sniffing double digits. 6-1 soph-2-b role player is only height to speak of. JV described as awful. Both 7th and 8th grade posted records south of .500 last season. HS Business is about it right now, but more are expected.
