Gibson Southern boys – Departing Coach Kyle Runyan
FT. BRANCH, Ind. – (Updated 3/10) Coach Runyan has decided to step down after seven years leading the Titans. Gibson Southern finished with just four wins last season, but good Varsity Club member reports that things are ready to improve for the maroon and gold. Only three seniors depart, and none started in their 9 point 3A Sectional loss to Boonville. Gibson Southern’s schedule is largely dictated by the enormous Pocket Athletic Conference with 13 members (all 2A & 3A.) Titans have been competitive with county arch rival, Princeton. Varsity Club report goes on to state, that while underclassmen have logged considerable varsity experience, there is an absence of proven height. Report states athletic 6-2’s is about it. Winning JV squad and strong feeder system reportedly in place. Middle school Industrial Tech all that is open right now, but more expected. Coach Runyan will remain in his teaching position. One report of internal interest.
