Hobart girls - (Updated 3/16) Coach Mike Hamacher will not be back on the sidelines for the Brickies next year. Hobart went 151-93 during Coach's 11 years there. This year the Brickies finished 15-10, but went a spotless 6-0 in conference play. Next year's roster will be -5 seniors including its top four leading scorers. Most rebounding departs as well. What is expected back is a pretty unique package. If someone tells you that the highest scoring returner tops out at a whopping 5 ppg (5-8 swing Alaina Richter,) you'd assume the team was in trouble. Maybe you're right, but what is very interesting is an 18-win junior varsity that saw no less than 20 girls see action during the season. Good Varsity Clubber reports it was a true victory by committee where no one averaged much more than 4 ppg. Seeing that translate tot eh varsity level may be a stretch, but at least it's not all gloom and doom. Speaking of doom, it should be pointed out that Hobart finds itself in class basketball's no man's land as a small 4A (1250 students) No word yet on teaching areas available yet.
