Concordia girls - Departing Coach Dave Miller
FT. WAYNE, Ind. -- (Updated 2/4) 31 year veteran Coach Miller announced his retirement after the Cadets tourney loss to Angola. Coach has been at Concordia for 18 years, winning nine sectionals, three regionals, two semi-states and two state titles. His 31-year career produced 479 wins. As far as the situation for the incoming coach, the 15-8 Cadets lose four contributing seniors. Typically this would mean a rebuild, but good Varsity Clubber reports there are some proven underclassmen returning inside and out. 6-0 jr-2-b post Annika Nelson is expected back and she was good for 12 and 6 as a soph last go round. 5-5 jr-2-b multisport athlete LonDynn Betts should be back as well. She added 8 ppg and 4 ast an outing last season as well. Report indicates 8-win JV not expected to produce and difference makers. Matching last year’s 15 win mark may be a reach given Concordia’s schedule, but there is enough there to game plan and be competitive. No teaching positions at this early date. One report of internal interest.
