FW Canterbury girls - (Updated 4/3) Coach Wayne Kreiger has announced his resignation after a career that has lasted nearly 40 years. Coach Kregier has put together a record of 588-233 during that time at multiple stops and having coached both boys and girls. His last three seasons with Canterbury were just ridiculous. 69-11 and three straight trips to the state finals. The Canterbury girls program is a simply a different animal by nature than most of its opponents. Gone are FW area all-stars PG Darby Maggard and 6-2 post Katherine Smith, but three starters are expected to return (One a soph last year and another a frosh) It's a strange thing how winning programs seem to grow terrific ball players within their neighborhoods, and the Canterbury community seems to get the most out of their 327 student enrollment. Soooo good Varsity Clubber reports new Coach must possess not only a solid resume, but also be well spoken. There is some word that Canterbury will look no further than its own bench to fill. Specific names coming.
