Angola girls - Departing Coach Nick Burlingame
ANGOLA, Ind. -- (Updated 2/16) WANE15 is reporting Coach Burlingame has resigned after three seasons with Angola (45-27.) WANE had previously reported in November 2021 there was an investigation into the girls basketball program at Angola. Two assistant coaches resigned their positions at that time. Police are reportedly involved but details are few. Goes without saying this is a mess with countless and many varied theories. IF all return that are expected to, from a basketball standpoint, the Hornets will graduate just two seniors, and return six strong contributors including PG duties and post defense and rebounding. JV team described as pretty strong. Finished 15-6, 9-1 in Northeast Corner Conference. Won last seven games of the season. Looking further down the line, 8th grade said to be decent. 7th and 6th grades both pretty strong. Job openings currently few and far between but several more are expected later this spring. Currently just HS French, ESL, HS Spanish.
