[There are 13 high school basketball teams from Central Indiana still playing going into the regional round on Saturday, March 13. There are 13 coaches who have a combined 2,051 wins in 144 seasons and a combined five state championships.
There is a wide range of experience. From Lawrence North’s Jack Keefer, second on the state’s all-time wins list with 845 wins in 49 seasons and four state championships, to Bethesda Christian’s Jon Grubaums, in his first season with 18 wins.
They all got their start somewhere. For some, it was a middle school or freshman position. For others, it was a direct leap into varsity basketball. But all 13 coaches had someone, somewhere along the way who helped them at the beginning of their coaching career.]
