Garrett boys - Departing Coach Andrew Evertts
GARRETT, Ind. -- (Updated 4/5) Now being reported that Coach Evertts has resigned after three seasons with the Railroaders. In an oddity all three seasons finished with an identical 5-18 record. Prior to New Year’s, Garrett sat just a game under below .500, but last year’s end-of-season 12-game losing streak was a killer. Garrett’s Northeast Corner Conference did them no favors either. Eastside, Angola, Central Noble, Busco, Prairie Hts, Lakeland, Fremont, and Fairfield. The undermanned Railroaders haven’t topped .500 for ten years. Varsity Club member reports potential B.E.S.T. nominee as allegedly some parents went to board and were listened to at least to some extent. To make matters worse, virtually all production graduates. Decent sr-2-b and a soph-2-b that showed some promise is about it for holdovers. Given the red flag trilogy, (the climate of losing, the lack of proven varsity contribution coming back, and a school board that allegedly needs an ear to misguided bleacher coaches) this one could be one to avoid. Varsity Clubber reports potential of JV Coach tossing hat in the ring, but assuming he understands the current landscape at Garrett maybe better than anyone and may opt not to. For those that still wish to forge ahead, HS SS and HS Spanish openings are there.
