[OK, I am an outsider. I've never eaten a taco on Euclid Ave. I never knew Stoyan "Steve" Tesich, just enjoyed his movie. I've cheered for Gregg Popovich's teams, but I don't know where he grew up. As a kid, I was in awe watching East Chicago Roosevelt's Jim Bradley play and was happy to write stories that helped finally get him into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.
My jaw was on the ground watching the 1971 E.C. Washington team play at Crown Point. Pete Trgovich, Tim Stoddard, Junior Bridgeman, Darnell Adell and Ruben Bailey were the best starting five on the best high school team I've ever seen.]
