Five teams were picked by our players in the final week of the contest, but Greensburg was their favorite selection by far. Nine contestants received 28 points for the Pirates' shutout of the Rushville Lions. No other team was picked by more than one player. The North Vermillion Falcons had Week 9's largest margin of victory with their 55-10 win over the Seeger Patriots. In a battle of unbeatens, the Adams Central Flying Jets were grounded for the first time this season in a 28-16 loss to the Woodlan Warriors.
With the completion of the regular season, it is time to crown our champion! Congratulations to hhsdawg, winner of the 2016 Hickory Husker Pigskin Pick'em! After moving into a tie for the lead in Week 4, he took sole possession of the top spot in Week 6 and never relinquished it. He was the only contestant to score in double figures every week, and never scored fewer than 28 points in any round. His final tally of 344 points is impressive when you consider that only four teams had their biggest win of the season in the week he picked them.
The remainder of our top five were separated by only 16 points. ysuindy was second with 289, followed by hanover1989 in third with 282 points. JFM3 and quad runner both totaled 273 points, with JFM3 finishing fourth by virtue of the tiebreaker.
The correct score for our tiebreaker this year was 174, the combined scores of these six teams which played at Lucas Oil Stadium on October 8:
