Two officials to be honored at 2017 IBCA Clinic
Game officials Rohr, Sintz to be recognized on April 21 during awards program
Game officials Tom Rohr and Larry Sintz will be will be recognized with special awards next week at the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association's annual clinic.
Rohr and Sintz will be honored as respective winners of the Roy Gardner and Mildred Ball awards during a ceremony on April 21 during the 2017 IBCA Clinic at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis.
The officials are being cited for their work impacting the game floor, Rohr from 1972-present and Sintz from 1964-present.
Rohr is in his 45th year of officiating and has worked 40 sectionals, 28 regionals, 11 semistate and six State Finals in boys basketball over the years. The Montezuma resident has been a long-time member of the Wabash Valley Officials Association, serving that group as an officer and clinician at various points.
An official for 53 years, Sintz has officiated 41 sectionals, 36 regionals, 12 semistates and three State Finals (1990, 1995, 2001) in girls basketball. The Brookville resident also has called 10 sectionals and five regionals in boys basketball. In volleyball, Sintz has worked 40 sectionals, 35 regionals, 10 semistates and five State Finals. He also has officiated football for 46 years.
