First game of the year Skyler plays for school A, which is in the school A's city. The parent of Skyler works for school A and Skyler has always attended school A. School board decides not to renew parents contract so Slyer transfers immediately.
Skyler transfers to school B, in school B's city at the school the other parent works at. Skyler is given eligibility on varsity 5 days later. Skyler's second game with new school is actually against the team Skyler played in game one of the same year for School A.
Here is the issue. Neither school is a private school, neither parent is a coach, and neither school is in the district in which Skyler lives. Skyler lives in a totally different school district.
How is this ok?
There was a player that family was kicked out of their house prior to the school year because the homeowner (they rented) had a foreclosure, so it was not this player's families fault. They moved to a school district, but decided to go to a school more the size that player was used to instead of the bigger school district they had to move to. This player only got JV eligibility.
I think all transfers without a residential move should be allowed once without question and from that point, none should be allowed. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to who gets eligibility and who does not.
