Granderson, now Suntana Anderson, hopes that the uniform will have some company in the near future.
Anderson, a former star with the Wildcats and one of the top girls’ players the city has ever produced, is now in charge of the program she helped put on the map.
Anderson was recently hired as the new Riley girls’ hoops coach, replacing Jose Robles.
The former Wildcat guard, who went on to have an outstanding career at Xavier University, is looking forward to the challenge of rebuilding the once proud program.
“It feels really good to be back,” said Anderson after recently putting her players through an open gym workout. “This means a lot to me. I’m definitely grateful that Riley gave me the opportunity to come back and coach here.”]
