If I could figure out how to put pictures on here, I would show you an example, but I am too dumb to figure it out.
Counting both boys and girls games that I have been too this year, that number is at about 30. In over half of those games there are constantly players on the same team in different colored sleeves, knee pads, etc. When I asked in one of the games I was part of, I was told the ref was not there to the fashion police.
I said in the beginning this was a stupid rule, but if it is a rule then why is it not being followed. I witnessed three games last night two varsity and part of a JV and one team who was wearing white had three girls in black knee pads or sleeves, and then one in a white sleeve (same team), in another game there was three knee pads in black and one in blue, in the third there was one black leg sleeve and one white.
My question is why are these not being followed? It goes back to the refs are not accountable and when you ask them they many get an attitude and then hold a grudge. I have heard, worry about the game, I am in charge and not the fashion police, does it really affect the game, among others. Now I do agree that if they want to wear a rainbow colored sleeve and another black it shouldn't matter, but it is a rule that is supposed to be followed.
