Shelbyville girls – Departing Coach Jason West
Shelbyville, Ind. – (Updated 2/1) Coach Jason West has resigned after four years (22-71) with the Golden Bears. This past season was a rough one as the undermanned Bears went just 4-20 and endured a 12 game losing streak. Good Varsity Club member familiar with the roster at Shelby stated that although the top three scorers depart due to graduation, none were double digit point droppers. While 20 of the 41 points leaves, the real trouble is ball handling where the Golden Bears routinely turned it over. That might get a little better as the backcourt mostly returns, but it has a long way to go. Good Varsity Club member reports JV not much help as they were routinely blasted by opponents this past season. Some decent height moving up through the grades, but nothing proven game-wise. Middle school described with low optimism at best.
