I was told tonight that Seton Catholic contacted scheduled team today to tell them that the Cardinals will not be fielding a girls team this season. I know their numbers have been low and four of last year's nine players were seniors. The four seniors accounted for 67% of their scoring.
Seton's enrollment last year for classification was 78. There are only five schools smaller : Washington Catholic, Evansville Day (no girls team), Central Christian, Medora and Smith Academy (all boys school)
Seton has punched well above their weight in basketball (even after Desmond Bane) and baseball and have had some individual running success. Sorry to see them not be able to field a team.
Schools calling around today to other Seton opponents to try to fill their schedules.
