This occurred during a JV game and I thought I knew the rule, but I am not sure. I have talked to several Varsity officials and answers were different.
This is following an alternating possession Team A is taking ball out of bounds. Team B is on defense and gets a five second call. The officials disagreed, but finally came to an agreement that the arrow changed. The varsity officials were asked about that call during warmup from the table and they said the arrow does not change.
Which is right. I feel that if Team B forces a five second call Team A should lose the arrow. I thought the only way they kept the arrow was if it was a defensive foul prior to getting ball in?
