We had it called both ways this year for something to never happen to me it happened 4X.
My question: There were officials that said a five second count did not change the possession because the ball was not inbounded. Then we had a set of officials that said not getting it in is your chance and arrow changes.
I honestly have not been able to find the rule.
But here is my question. I was watching a game the other night (and this happens often) team got the ball on alternating possessions. There were 8 tenths of a second and it was on the opposite end. If the rule is the ball must be touched in bounds for arrow to change why not just take a five second call and get the ball to start the next quarter.
