Heard this scenario being talked about this weekend.
Team A scores a basket late in the game. Team B calls timeout immediately. Coach of Team B draws up an out of bounds play with the inbounder being on the opposite side of the basket that the official has placed the basketball for throw in.
(Coach of Team B needs to fire his assistants, but that is for another post)
Since the inbounder can run the baseline after the made basket, could Team B decide what side of the basket the ball is taken out of bounds?
If not, why not? What do officials use for a spot for the basketball, especially if the TO was taken before an inbounder grabbed the ball for the throw in after original basket?
I will hang up and listen.
