Question about AAU

I have a girl that an AAU team is interested in. She is a sophomore and I thought the rules forbid it. The AAU group is telling her it is ok and that if she wants to play for them she needs to attend so they can look at her. They are saying since it is not scrimmaging and it is fundamentals it is ok. I am almost positive that is a violation, and I wonder how many high school girls are going to this clubs Sunday workouts?
