Last night another basketball season ended for a team that I coached.
Sixty-three other teams across Indiana also saw their hopes and dreams end last night on the hardwood as well.
The finality of a season ending tournament is what makes it so special.
A few minutes ago I sent out a group text to our players and coaches.
~ "Just as I expected, the darkness turned into light this morning.

One of the great tragedies in a young athletes life is falling short of their hopes, dreams, and goals. Last Saturday, Bethany Christian senior basketball star KeShawn Smith died in an auto accident on his way to a college visit.
Perspective."
My friend Ken Beatty is an assistant coach at Warren Central - the same Warren Central that went undefeated and were 4A State Champions last year. They had a superb season again this campaign.
Their repeat hopes ended last night to Lawrence Central - a team that beat the Warriors twice this season.
One year ago today, Ken received a Liver Transplant to give him the gift of life so he could continue to mentor, coach, and inspire young men.
A person died to give him that Liver.
Athletics teaches us how to deal with lifes challenges.
What we learn and how we apply those lessons, determines to a great deal our successes - and our failures too - as life moves on.
Will those lessons springboard us to great success, or will we spend life rehashing past glories like the Bruce Springsteen song sings or Al Bundy cherishes?
Have a great day all! Go frolick around in the snow!
