Was reading a article about a pioneer era recipe for something termed Indiana Sauce. Recipe below dated 1840. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing or even tried it?
INDIANA SAUCE:
4 tbsp. fresh-scraped horseradish
2 tbsp. dried mustard
2 tbsp. salt
2 tsp. celery seed
2 onions, minced
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
2 c. vinegar
Store in jar. Let stand for a week, then pass through a sieve and bottle securely.
