As an official I like to think I know most of the rules, but last night I saw and heard something that I either didn't now or the ref didn't know.

The offensive team made a pass that caused the defensive player to slide in the balls direction. She never lifted her foot or attempted to kick the ball but she did and she ended up with the ball and scored on the other end. The coach was not happy and asked what the ref was looking at and the ref said, "it was not intentional so it can't be a kick."

Now my understanding of the rule is if the team that kicked it intentionally or unintentionally end up with an advantage due to the kick...it is a kick. I am pretty sure that was changed so officials did nto have to determine whether a kick was intentional or not.

I was keeping the clock so I heard the whole conversation..
