SB Trinity girls – Departing Coach Carl Smith
(Updated 6/26) – Good Varsity Club member passes on this info from new IHSAA member: Trinity School at Greenlawn in South Bend is a small non-denominational Christian school. Been around fro sometime but played limited schedule with very meager results. Starting in the 2017-2018 school year Trinity will be an IHSAA member school and will obviously be a 1A school. From the school: Trinity is excited about the new basketball gym floor being finished. The new gym will have 6 hanging basketball goals. Practices are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Games can be on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday. Schedule is still largely made-up of non-IHSAA schools, but SB Clay and Culver Community added for next year’s docket. Five former non-IHSAA 1A’s already on the books from last year as well. Possibly more depending on holiday tourney match-ups. Last year the Titans managed just 3-13 against a very weak schedule. Varsity Club member reports scoring 20 points against a decent team was a challenge. Also very interesting – this.. Educational requirements for incoming coach: None. So there’s that. AD’s name is Mike Gionfriddo. Varsity Clubber reports 39 wins vs. IHSAA schools in 17 seasons.
