I know we have at least one person on the board who is far more schooled on Kentucky's state tournament than myself, but I'll go to my last breath thinking a state basketball tournament should be one loss and you are out, single class or not.

These teams all lost in their district (our sectional) championship, then advanced to region play and won, thus making it to Rupp Arena for Kentucky's Sweet 16.

Scott (lost to Campbell Co. 59-58 at district; d. Campbell Co. 78-77 at region)

Collins (lost to Anderson Co. 53-44 at district; d. Anderson Co. 54-53 at region)

Taylor Co. (lost to Adair Co. 90-72 at district; d. Adair Co. 67-66 at region)

and my SUPER DUPER darling of the Sweet 16 ...

Just a few miles down the road from me, Meade County ... started 8-1 and is 13-21 on the year ... lost 19 of their previous 20 games heading into the state tournament ... the mighty Green Wave got edged by 27-5 Hancock Co. (which didn't advance from region), 61-60, then trimmed 21-13 Daviess Co., 67-66, to move on to the bright lights in Lexington.
