[CANNELTON—Cannelton Athletic Hall of Famer Bill Dickerson held his first two summer practices coaching basketball at his alma mater Tuesday and Thursday, and for the most part he likes what he’s seen so far.
He said he was “really pleased” with how quickly the players were picking up his offense, but noted, “We’ve got a long way to go, and some things we want to put in are going to take some time. But little by little, they’re picking it up.”
His offense involves a lot of passing, cutting and screening. “We’ve got a lot of work to do on that dribble screen,” he said.
Most of his plays involve several options and he wants his players to feel free to choose the one that they think will work best in any given situation.]
