[When I was coaching at New Castle, Coach (Daniel) Cox and Coach (Steve) Burris were talking about Tri and some of its players,” Lacy said, “and I knew one of them, too, because I coached Masen Phelps in AAU ball. I always wanted to be a varsity head coach, so when the Tri position opened up, I applied, went down and talked to Bryan (Peggs) and Chris Stillwell, was impressed by what I heard and saw in their facilities, and accepted the job.”
Since Tri did not have a teaching position open in the subjects Lacy teaches, Lacy will maintain his teaching job at NCHS.
“I primarily team American History, a course in current events, and Psychology at New Castle,” Lacy explained. “This fall, I will begin teaching a course in law-ed, and am starting my preparation to teach that in addition to preparing for my first season coaching at Tri.”]
