[Most high school basketball coaches in Indiana eat Nikes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The orange hoops and balls take up most of their lives, from Friday nights in January to Monday mornings in July.

It's been that way in Indiana for a very long time.

Hobart's Mike Black is cut from a different cloth. Yes, basketball pumps through his veins, but he also coached the Brickies girls track program for 17 years and was an assistant cross country coach.

Black, who has coached Hobart's boys basketball program for 17 years — the longest tenure in Brickies' history — confirmed Thursday that he is stepping down.]
