While high school hoops season is a long way off, this will be a summer of change for the Clay City basketball programs.
Former girls’ basketball coach Chris Ames resigned his post back in March and was recently named the boys coach for the Eels. Boys’ head coach Vance Edmondson resigned his position and Jason Sinders has taken over that position for the Eels. (A feature story on Sinders will run later this week in The Brazil Times).
For Ames, taking the reigns as the varsity boys coach has allowed him to come full circle to a degree as he was an assistant with former head coach Grant McVay for eight years before taking over the varsity girls job in 2009.
