The Lighthouse girls basketball program has been pretty dominate under Thomas Smith's leadership.
In four years, the Lions were 66-33 under Smith, winning three Class 3A sectional championships.
With the graduation of his daughter, Daijah Smith, now playing at Indiana State, Lighthouse needed a new leader after Thomas Smith resigned.
New Lighthouse athletic director Myles Tolliver decided to stay in house as they selected Tim Mays, who has run the Lions middle school program the last three seasons, going 80-3 in that span.
"Tom was a great mentor to me," Mays said on Saturday night. "We're going to be young but talented."
