["I had a great opportunity to coach in St. Joseph and really enjoyed my time there,'' Wallace said. "But I had been a parochial teacher all my life and when the chance came to go to St. John, I thought it was an opportunity to minister to kids, and I needed and wanted to do it. It was all about the ministry. But I also knew that coaching was not out of my blood yet.''
Wallace said his wife Alli's family is from the greater South Bend area and his family was hoping to get closer to them. The opportunity to coach at Memorial was also a big factor in applying.]
