IHSAA just released the classifications for the next two years

403 boys schools were classified and 401 girls schools were classified.

Smith Academy is a boys only school and the Evansville Day School girls were not classified.

The IHSAA also chose to not classify Signature School, who has not had teams but has been classified.

Also keep in mind that schools do not move down when success factor moves a school up.

Because of the disparity in numbers 3A and 2A will have 100 boys teams and 101 girls teams.

Three schools will have their boys and girls teams in different classes based on enrollment because there are two less girls schools to classify (both of which would be 1A by enrollment)

Eastern (Greentown) is 3A for boys and 2A for girls

Tecumseh and Cambridge City Lincoln are 2A for boys and 1A for girls.

The IHSAA classified Riverside (new charter school in Indy with only 9th and 10th grade this year) as 1A based on their two class enrollment.

It will be very interesting to see how the Sectional assignments break out with the various schools in different classes.

I'm also confused by the note for Marquette Catholic boys "pending proposed change in rule 2-5d school will remain in higher class." Marquette is shown as a 2A school
