Via twitter (@IHSAA1), the IHSAA announced this evening that the pairings for the girls sectional will be next Sunday, Jan. 15th. The announced date in their Winter Bulletin, which is posted on the IHSAA website, was Jan. 22nd, which corresponds to all other sports, allowing a week to plan for potential opponents. This change increases the opportunities for teams to scout and gameplan, especially the bye teams.
If you check the twitter feed, when asked, the IHSAA responded that this change was made to accommodate their TV and radio partners and the conflicts they had with scheduling. I guess the 407 member schools don't play into their decision???
Of course, if you recall, the girls' pairings show was moved to Monday last year to accommodate TV and radio, so this is fairly typical of the IHSAA and the girls' pairings show.
