Six teams were chosen by our players in Week 8, with no team being picked by more than three contestants. 1A #8 Parke Heritage was the most popular pick, and the Wolves responded with a 28 point win over the Riverton Parke Panthers. 4A #8 Indianapolis Chatard had the largest margin of victory in this round as the Trojans throttled the Terre Haute North Patriots 53-7. Two of our teams were defeated in Week 8, as Southridge fell to Heritage Hills 20-13 and 4A #12 Martinsville was pummeled by 4A #7 Mooresville 49-13.
Our contest has tightened up considerably as we are coming down to the wire! Nick Jenkinson and ysuindy are tied for first place with 270 points, followed by hhsdawg and Ranger 20 in a tie for third with 264. Rob Deweese is in fifth place with 255 points, and he is in perhaps the most intriguing position of any of our contestants. The players in the first four positions all have Westfield as their Week 9 pick, so their relative finishing positions, taking the tiebreaker into account, are fixed in this order: ysuindy, Nick Jenkinson, hhsdawg, and Ranger 20. But Rob's final pick is Martinsville, so he is the wildcard here. Can he outscore the others by at least 16 points next week to take home the trophy, or will ysuindy remain on top? We will crown our champion next week!
