Eastbrook boys – Departing Coach Brian Childs

Marion, Ind. – (Updated 3/26) Now official that Coach Childs has resigned after six seasons (55-80) at Eastbrook. Last year’s Panthers finished just below .500, and good Varsity Club member reports that while 25 ppg senior and leading rebounder departs in Ryan Mansbarger, three jr’s-2-b are set to return. Those three were the other key contributors for Eastbrook last go-round as varsity sophs. Of the three, 6-2 shooter Conner Childs is of obvious interest as he is the son of resigning Coach Childs. No idea at this point what that will mean. All-name team member Capone Johnson is also part of the trio and a proven point guard and scorer already. Not a ton of sophs pull of triple doubles, and he did just that vs. Taylor and Varsity Clubber indicates he flirted with it in numerous other games. The third player is 6-4 front liner, Bryce Schamber. Varsity Club member reports thin, but capable. Will no doubt play into future coach’s plans. JV not great, but will likely supply a couple of players: 5-10 Jr-2-b G Deniro Trout mentioned specifically. Varsity Club member also reports HS Social Studies and HS/MS Sped openings for certain.
