Yorktown girls – Departing Coach Joy Mathews
Yorktown, Ind. – (Updated 2/26) Now official that the Tigers will have a new leader next fall. Yorktown finished 12-9 last season, and a Varsity Clubber reports This program could improve those numbers next year. Only two seniors and about 7 ppg depart as Tigers should welcome back returning leading scorer, 5-4 jr-2-b guard Elizabeth Reece (16 ppg.) Another Varsity Club member submits report of solid post play returning, but only slightly above avg height. Also word that Yorktown JV and middle school squads also very competitive. Varsity Club member close to the situation reports varsity assistant position also open and word that school may be able to create teaching position for new head coach.
