Washington Catholic girls - Departing Coach Andrew Moore
WASHINGTON, Ind. -- (Updated 6/10) Now official that Coach Moore will not be returning after one season with the Cardinals. The WC finished just 2-17 last season, and those numbers are just as bad as they look. Varsity Club member reports that while the roster loses just two seniors to graduation and only about 13ppg, the team as a whole failed to reach 30 points on 11 occasions last year. Report states 5-4 jr-2-b swing Mya Cline is the only player returning that was capable of hitting double digits last season (7ppg.) Not a lot of numbers in the program which has become the norm. Program has not had a winning season in 16 seasons, most of those falling below the 5-win mark. Summary for incoming coach - Nice girls, not great basketball players. Confirmed teaching openings include a K-12 PE, K-12 Music, and HS Science. Facilities are limited, but awesome none-the-less with the Birdcage. Report states there is a bit of a silver lining in W/L expectations have been worn down over time. Aps deadline 6/14.
