Lincoln boys – Departing Coach Jordan Myers
VINCENNES, Ind. – (Updated 3/7) Red flags fly in Vincennes over one of the first boys’ jobs of the season. Coach Myers will not be back after three seasons in Aliceland. Last year’s Lincoln team finished just 2-21 with very marginal talent. Good Varsity Clubber reports, for the schedule they play, they are going to be very undermanned most nights. Potential move to Pocket Athletic Conference could help some, but middle school has no talent coming. A lack of talent, however, is not main issue in Vincennes. Principal is reportedly supportive but has zero say in what goes on. Reportedly an overly manipulative superintendent and school board along with absolutely bat crazy community. One Varsity Club member reports calls were allegedly made about someone taking the job before the season by school board. Report even goes on to describe players being physically and verbally accosted in public, amongst many other things that are out of the coaches control. Based on the days when Vincennes faithful would make annual hotel reservations for Evansville Regional, many old towner that thinks they should win Sectional every year with absolutely unrealistic expectations. Coach gets very little say in what goes on. No teaching openings at this time, but several expected.
